Laser scanning captures spatial data by the use of Laser light. The Shape, position, and spatial locations of objects are recorded by millions of points. From this complete data set a 3D as-build model can be constructed using the appropriate CAD (Computer aided drafting) programs with an accuracy of less than 3mm.
